The Ocean

Ginette Vachon presents photographs of oceans from around the world.
Expressing the ocean in words or images is a challenging venture.
We get glimpses of its beauty, variety, moods and chaos while sailing or simply spending time on a shore. At sea, the ocean can be an awesome palette of colors, and moving shapes. Raging tidal waves, scattered ice, floating trash, and more, cover or agitate its surface.
Our life and that of the whole planet depends on the ocean. Hence, my interest in picturing that overwhelming seascape, and my desire to create a further awareness and respect for its beauty and fragility, and to encourage its preservation.
