Celebrating Japanese Traditional Design
Chee Soon & Fitzgerald and Sandy Edwards
This selling exhibition brings together personal Japanese collections by Casey Khik of Chee Soon & Fitzgerald and Sandy Edwards of Arthere. It celebrates the art of the Kimono and Japanese textiles that are adaptible to many forms of design.
What is there not to love about Japanese textile design? Add that to a classic kimono and you have an artform that has deep traditional significance in Japanese culture going far beyond the superficiality of fashion.
The surprising boldness and eclecticism of Japanese fabric design will not be a surprise to those who have been following ‘all things Japanese’. For those who are new to it you are in for a delightful experience.
