Cheap chips and the forests of the Styx and Upper Florentine Valleys in Tasmania

These photographs of two of Tasmania’s unique, pristine, ancient, remnant rainforests date from 2003. The aim of this ongoing project is to picture the tall trees of these great forests together with the understorey trees and plants, fungi, lichens, mosses and the forest landscape, before all is destroyed forever by clearfell logging and the activities associated with establishing quick-money, fast-growing plantation forests in place of the original old-growth forests.
